Prentiss is now Envincio

A new name for an organization with a long and proud history.chrysanthemum

Prentiss was founded in 1919 by Richard Prentiss and Jacob Miller to sell botanical extracts used in home remedies. While Richard Prentiss left the company early on, the Miller family continued to use the Prentiss name and expanded into natural pest control products such as pyrethrum (made from chrysanthemums) and rotenone. Later, we added synthetic chemicals to our product line as those compounds became available after World War II. During this time, Prentiss also supported research that led to the development of warfarin, which became a widely-used rat and mouse control material. The company was also a major supplier of insecticides to specialty markets, and developed strong working relationships with customers and major manufacturers.

Through this period, we continued to build a reputation for supplying high-quality products to the professional, agricultural and other pest control markets. The 2008 purchase of Prentiss by SantoLubes LLC and subsequent acquisition of EcoSmart’s professional line in 2009 gave us the most comprehensive line of natural pest control products available to the professional market – a natural fit given our company history.

Now, with the transition to Envincio, we are poised to provide our customers with the solutions that best meet their specific needs. With our broad portfolio of products, we provide pest control solutions across the entire spectrum from natural organic products to low-synthetic to fully synthetic, all of which deliver state of the art quality and performance.

Nowadays it’s pretty rare to find an organization like ours that actually makes — in its own plant — what it sells. But that’s how we’ve operated for decades, and we’ve seen the benefits to our customers.

By owning and operating our own dedicated plant, we have the flexibility to meet customer needs more quickly and efficiently. We’re better-equipped to handle last-minute changes in demand plans, to accommodate smaller runs, and to steward our products through the entire supply and manufacturing cycle. And because we have warehouse storage and shipping capabilities at the plant site, we can often consolidate loads and bundle shipments to reduce costs.

Additionally, we’re proud to be involved in our plant’s community of Sandersville, GA and to support the local economy.
